Meet the Xenocaris!
Xenocaris are some of the most common megaxenofauna found in the oceans of Epipelago! They prefer to live in the Bathypelagic Zone, however they are often found closer to the surface. Rarely, they have even been spotted attempting to come onto land! However, xenobiologists doubt that they would actually be able to survive on the surface for very long.
They are fierce predators, and use their strong mandibles to break open the shells of smaller organisms. Theoretically, they could easily kill a human being! Luckily, there have been no reported cases of this ever occuring.
Their ferocity and resilience in the face of adversity have made them the unofficial mascot for the people of Epipelago!

Meet the Xenocetaceans!
Xenocetaceans are the largest animal living on this planet! The average specimen is around 250 meters long and weighs more than 3 million pounds!
They are incredibly rare to see, as they live primarily in the Abyssopelagic Zone. Due to this, they remain a subject of great mystery. It is unknown what they eat (or even IF they eat), and much about their lifestyle remains unclear.
Curiously, they have been observed to COMMUNE WITH THE LIFEBLOOD OF THE PLANET. THEY KNOW THE BEGINNING AND THE END, although its purpose is currently unknown.
